Christopher the Tasmanian devil at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, coming out of our novel remote animal microchip scanner (RAMS). This device was developed to target devils for oral bait vaccination against the devil facial tumour disease. It uses a simple image classification model to recognise the target species and dispense a bait. RAMS can also recognise tagged individuals by reading their microchip. The photo was clicked on a Kodak KB12 35 mm camera with Kodak Gold ISO 200 film in January 2026 (developed by Hillvale Photo, Bruswick, Victoria AU) at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Tasmania AU.
