#MiceInResearch 2022
Saturday, 14 May is the eighth anniversary of the Concordat on Openness on Animal Research in the UK. To mark the occasion, we are running our annual social media campaign #MiceInResearch.
Join us from Monday 9 to Friday 13 May to celebrate openness and transparency by sharing information about the #MiceInResearch you conduct at your facility, fund, or support. Mice are the most used animal in biomedical research in the UK, which is why we have chosen this species as the primary focus of this campaign.
The Concordat on Openness was designed to facilitate transparent and open communication between research organisations and the general public. The #MiceInResearch campaign takes place primarily on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and is a great way to amplify information about research involving mice so that it’s easy for the general public to find.
We hope to see as many organisations share information and resources about how, why, and when mice are used in research, including information about 3Rs projects and steps taken to enhance mouse welfare. Don't forget to use the hashtag #MiceInResearch so that your posts can be shared easily and please tag UAR where possible!
Unable to create your own social media content? We have resources available to download and share from our infographic library, image library, and video library, that include basic information on the use of mice in research.
This year we will be hosting a series of Instagram takeovers throughout the week in collaboration with Concordat signatory organisations. Stay tuned for further announcements and follow us on Instagram so that you don't miss out!
