Membership is available to life science organisations, including academic, pharmaceutical, charities, research funders, government bodies and professional and learned societies. Once you have signed up, member benefits are available to everyone in your organisation.
The primary criteria for membership of UAR Oceania is support for our mission of helping everyone to understand how and why animals are used in scientific research. If you represent an organisation that wishes to join Understanding Animal Research Oceania you can email us for our current membership rates and further information. Membership starts $ 3,000 per year for small charities.

Membership categories and information
UAR Oceania is a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee and registered in Australia in July 2022. As a member association, UAR Oceania is financed and led by its members. Only representatives of member organisations may sit on UAR Oceania's governing board of directors. UAR Oceania does not have individual members.
UAR Oceania has three categories of member: full members, affiliate members and sponsoring members.
- Full members are the legal owners of Understanding Animal Research Oceania.
- Affilate members recieve member benefits of from UAR Oceania, and may contribute to governing the organisation in an advisory capacity. After three years of membership they may choose to become full members of UAR Oceania.
- Sponsoring members support UAR Oceania's work through a voluntary finanical contribution.
Members also determine how we run through their contribution at our annual general meeting. Accounts are to be presented annually. Copies of our accounts and minutes of the AGM will be available soon from our resources section.
